Smartphones are now as much part of everyday life as washing up and eating breakfast. In the past 20 years or so the ability to communicate and get information essentially at will wherever you are, has advanced to a stage that some people older than say 70 or so, have a problem accepting the reality of it. Laptops, PC's, Macbooks etc have helped this revolution, but the device which is at the forefront of this digital sweeping advance is the smartphone. Now, provided your phone is able to contact data services through either 4G, 5G or WiFi you are able to communicate with people (hear and see) control devices at home, control your bank accounts, pay bills, play games, know where you are and navigate to where you want. In fact I firmly believe that whatever your need is, your phone is capable of at least to some degree satisfying it. For example you may want some ideas for a meal and want to use certain ingredients. Ask your friendly assistant for some ideas.

All this is second nature to most youngsters but some more senior people do have problems with this superbly useful and somewhat daunting technology. Many people who I tried to help over the years say that they've asked their children or grandchildren for help. This is usually given at breakneck speed and quite often 2 days later the same problem arises again. My aim is to give people sufficient self confidence to solve the problem themselves.

We meet up once every other Monday at 10.00am at members homes.
